Da Vinci Surgical Robot

The Da Vinci surgical robot is one of the few robotic surgical systems in the world that can be formally used in laparoscopic surgery, and is also one of the most sophisticated surgical systems currently available. It is widely used in urology, gastric, intestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and gynecological fields. The Da Vinci surgical robot represents the highest level of today's surgical robots, with three key core technologies:: the freely moving arm wristEndoWrist、3D, high-definition imaging technology, and the master console human-machine interface. During surgery, the operating surgeon does not directly contact the patient, but controls the procedure through a three-dimensional visual system and motion scaling system, with the robotic arms and surgical instruments simulating and executing the surgeon's technical movements and surgical operations.

Da Vinci has three core technological breakthroughs:

First,3Dhigh-definition vision. The binocular endoscope magnifies the surgical field10-15 times, presenting immersive three-dimensional images that restore the depth perception only available in open surgery. Fine blood vessels, nerves, and fascial layers are clearly distinguishable[1][3]。

Second, intuitive operation. The robotic arm fully mimics the human wrist’s7degrees of freedom, with up to540degrees of rotation, while automatically filtering out physiological hand tremors. Every subtle movement by the surgeon is precisely transmitted to the tip of the surgical instrument.[2][4]。

Third, comfortable ergonomics. The surgeon can sit while performing surgeries lasting several hours, reducing fatigue and allowing greater focus on operational details.[3][4]。

According to Intuitive Surgical’s(Intuitive Surgical)2026年1financial report released in ...,2025in ..., the global volume of da Vinci surgeries reached315.3million cases, a year-over-year increase of approximately18%;As of2025the end of ..., the global installed base of da Vinci robots exceeded8000units, with cumulative surgical procedures surpassing1500million cases.[9]。
